Background:
Samuel was dedicated to the Lord as a child and raised under Eli the high priest. He ministered as a priest in the tabernacle (lighting lamps, opening temple doors, wearing the linen ephod).
Call:
God audibly called him at night while he served in the tabernacle.

Note:
Samuel became both prophet and judge of Israel.
Background:
Ezekiel was already a priest by lineage, from the family of Zadok.
Call:
At age 30, while exiled in Babylon, he saw the heavenly visions by the Kebar River and received God’s commission as prophet.

Note:
He transitions from temple service (cut off by exile) to prophetic ministry.
Background:
Born into a priestly family in Anathoth. He was expected to serve as a priest.
Call:
God directly spoke to him, setting him apart as prophet before birth.

Note:
Unlike Samuel or Ezekiel, Jeremiah may not have fully begun priestly temple duties yet, but his background was priestly.
